Nerd Block Classic March 2015 Unboxing and Review [SPOILER]

This is what I got in the March 2015 Nerd Block Classic theme "Simon Says":

T-Shirt: Shaun of the Dead "A Slice of Fried Gold"

First up is the t-shirt, it is a Shaun of the Dead t-shirt in honour of Simon Pegg which is the theme of this month's Nerd Block. It is black and says "A slice of fried gold" on it with Shaun holding a beer.

Value: $15-$20 (currently prices are $25, but I don't think it is worth that much)

Guardians of the Galaxy Nesting Dolls (6 pieces)

The next item is the exclusive Guardians of the Galaxy nesting dolls. There is 6 in total. Starting from largest to smallest: Groot, Grax the Destroyers, Star Lord, Gamora, Rockets Racoon, and Dancing Baby Groot. They said there would be a dancing baby groot in the block so this most be what they meant by it.

Value: $5 based on what sold for Marvel Nesting Dolls on Ebay.

Guardians of the Galaxy Groot Magnet

I received the Groot Magnet in this pack. It is ceramic it is actually a type of rubber, so won't break easily. The other magnets that you could have received were the Star-Lord or Rocket Racoon.

Value: $7 for what I could find that ships to Canada.

KidRobot Multicolor Micro RAFFY DIY Toy 2.5-Inch

As mentioned in my spoiler post there was going to be a KidRobot item in the box and I received the Raffy 2.5inch multicolor edition munny. There was also the possibility of receiving these items as well: Munny, Trikky or Foomi.

Value: $10 from KidRobot on Amazon

Mr. J's April Fools Kit

Mr. J's April Fool's Kit is actually a nice touch for them recognizing the next month coming up. Kids could have fun with this, One item is Mr. Freeze related item of two flies in ice cubes you can place in someones drink. The other is a classic whoopie cushion which features Harley Quinn riding a bomb with the words "Drop the Bomb" on it.

Value: $10 only one up for sale, I would say more like $5-$7

Book: Simon Pegg's Nerd Do Well

Last but not least is Simon Pegg's book Nerd Do Well: A Small Boy's Journey to Becoming a Big Kid paperback. They mentioned they were going to start putting more reading material in and this is kind of nice. I wouldn't mine reading through the book, it has some good pictures of Simon Pegg with other celebrities and should be a good read. If you are not a fan of him I could see this being a turn off for sure.

Value: $10-$15 on Amazon right now.

So this month's Nerd Block is roughly worth: $57 if items sold for all new prices. That is actually a pretty sweet deal for a $20 box. Really it cost $28 when you count shipping so I at least got my money worth. The prices might go up or down once more people get their boxes but because of the exclusive items it will mostly depend on the Nerd Block subscribers to set the price and collectors to say what is too much.

Let me know what you think of this month's Nerd Block below.

Also if you are interested in April's Spoilers I received a spoiler in the Nerd Block as well which I will update the April Spoiler post at the link here: Nerd Block Classic April Preview [SPOILERS]

Nerd Block Shipping & Cost

Nerd Block's Shipping and the cost of the monthly subscription will be highlighted in this post.

I will start off with a break down of what it cost me for the Nerd Block Classic for a 3 month subscription:

Block: Nerd Block Classic (3 months): $48.58
Shipping to Canada (3 months): $26.25
Tax: $9.72
Total: $84.55CAD

Price per Block Shipped: $28.18CAD

So I am hoping to find items worth more than $28.18 in these boxes to make it worth while. I live in Ontario, so I'm sure the price is the same for anywhere in Canada to be shipped. I'm also taxed because I live in Canada which I would assume USA would not be taxed.

I received a discount for paying for 3 months as well which is 10% off the blocks. Then an additional 10% off that price for using promo code SUPERHERP. Which brought the price from $17.99 per block to $16.19 per block.

All the above prices are in Canadian dollars.

I will do my best to figure out shipping and price to USA as well and will post it below once I know it.

However with the US dollar being so much higher than the Canadian dollar it might be worth getting a year's subscription. As of today it would be 26% off just with the currency conversion and you can use a 10% off promo code and take the 20% off from a years subscription. Must be nice living in the USA. =)

To sign up go to www.nerdblock.com and use Promo Code SUPERHERP for 10% off.

Comment below and tell me your cost to help others out!
